Bhubaneswar: The Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Astarang Police Station in Puri has been placed under suspension with immediate effect.
DGP YB Khurania initiated disciplinary proceedings against Rajesh Baliar Singh for gross misconduct and dereliction of duty.
Singh, a former Sub-Inspector of Police at Jeypore Town Police Station in Koraput district, faces allegations of gross misconduct and dereliction of duty.
During the suspension period, Singh will be under the disciplinary control of the Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch, Cuttack. He will receive subsistence allowance (SA) and dearness allowance (DA) as per Rule 90 of the Odisha Service Code.
The suspension follows a disciplinary proceeding contemplated against Singh, citing his actions as detrimental to public service.
