Bhubaneswar: A 23-year-old tourist from Uttarakhand was found dead in the swimming pool of Satya Narayan Eco Resort at Sankarpur under Sadar police limits in Dhenkanal district.
The deceased has been identified as Tejas Ahuja. The body of Ahuja was recovered by the fire brigade on Saturday morning.
According to reports, Tejas was part of a group of five tourists from Uttarakhand who had checked into the resort on Friday. The local fire brigade personnel received a distress call at 5 am on Saturday after the body of Tejas was found floating in the swimming pool.
According to park employees, the group of friends had dinner at the restaurant and retired to their suites. However, they were shocked to discover Tejas’s body floating in the boating pool behind their rooms the next morning. While the exact circumstances of the incident are unclear, sources suggest that the group had been drinking, which may have contributed to the mishap.
Upon being informed, the fire brigade team rushed to the scene and sent to the body to local Athagarh Hospital for further examination.
Police, meanwhile, have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of death and circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
