Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: The refurbished Indonesian Gallery at the Odisha State Maritime Museum (OSMM), Jobra, Cuttack, was inaugurated today by Ina Hagniningtyas Krisnamurthi, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to India, and Anu Garg, Development Commissioner–cum–Additional Chief Secretary, Odisha.

Located on the banks of the Mahanadi, the OSMM is a cultural landmark celebrating Odisha’s rich maritime legacy. The refurbished Indonesian Gallery now features enhanced lighting, upgraded signage, and improved artifact preservation systems, offering visitors a more engaging experience while showcasing centuries-old maritime and cultural ties between Odisha and Indonesia.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Krisnamurthi expressed her delight at the warm reception in Odisha and described the renovated gallery as a “true tribute to the deep and rich history of Odisha–Indonesia relations.”

Development Commissioner Anu Garg, while appreciating the Indonesian Embassy’s continued support, emphasized the importance of such collaborations in strengthening cultural ties. She further envisioned more modernization initiatives for the museum, alongside future joint projects with Indonesia and other ASEAN nations to enrich visitor experiences and deepen regional cultural exchanges.

The event marked another step in celebrating Odisha’s historic trade and cultural connections with Southeast Asia, reinforcing the maritime museum’s role as a hub of heritage and international collaboration.
