This system is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over the subsequent 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the low-pressure system is predicted to cross the south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts around the early morning of August 19, 2025.
The IMD has forecasted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms at isolated places across Andhra Pradesh for the next seven days, until August 19. Specifically, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh is expected to experience extremely heavy rainfall on August 18. North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema are also likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall during this period.
