Bhubaneswar: The Physical Measurement Test, Medical Examination, and Physical Efficiency Test for the recruitment of Home Guards in Angul district have been postponed owing to adverse weather conditions.
In an official notice, the Office of the Commandant, Home Guards, Angul, stated that the tests, originally scheduled from August 19 to 22, 2025, at the Police Training College Ground, Angul, have been deferred until further notice. The decision has been taken in view of safety concerns for candidates.
“….regarding recruitment to 141 Home Guard posts in Angul district, it is hereby informed to the candidates who qualified in the written examination held on 10.08.2025 that the Physical Measurement Test, Medical Examination, and Physical Efficiency Test — which were scheduled to be held from 19.08.2025 to 22.08.2025 at the Police Training College Ground, Angul — are hereby postponed until further orders due to adverse weather conditions and in consideration of the safety of the candidates. The revised dates for the above tests will be notified in due course,” the notification read.
The notice stated that revised dates for the tests will be announced in due course. Candidates are advised to regularly monitor official communication channels for updates.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow warning for Angul district, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms with lightning, and gusty surface winds (30–40 km/h) at isolated locations on August 19 and 20.
