Balasore: In a shocking case that has come to light from the Basta area of Balasore district, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly repeatedly raped and blackmailed by a group of four, including three minors and an 18-year-old youth.
The Basta Police have registered a case and apprehended all the accused.
The horrifying sequence of events, as per the police complaint, began seven months ago. The prime accused, the 18-year-old youth who was known to the survivor, lured her to a secluded place on the pretext of an outing. There, he, along with three other minors, gang-raped the girl. In a further act of depravity, the other friends recorded videos of the assault to use as leverage for future blackmail.
The nightmare for the survivor resurfaced on the 14th of this month when the same group called her to another isolated location. When she mustered the courage to refuse, the accused threatened to leak the previously recorded compromising videos. Upon her continued refusal to comply, the accused followed through on their threat by sending some of the intimate photos and videos to her brother’s mobile phone.
This brazen act ultimately led to the crime being exposed. The brother informed the family, who then learned the full, tragic details of the past incident from the traumatized girl. Following this, the victim’s father filed a formal written complaint at the Basta police station.
Taking swift action, the police launched an investigation and succeeded in apprehending all the accused persons. A case has been registered at the Basta police station.
The police have recorded the survivor’s detailed statement, and all the accused have been sent to the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital for a medical examination.
The community and local leaders have expressed outrage over the incident, with demands pouring in for the strictest possible legal action against all the perpetrators involved in this heinous crime.
