Police Crack Down On Bike Theft Ring In Mayurbhanj; One Arrested; Nine Vehicles Recovered

Baripada: Police made a significant breakthrough in a motorcycle theft case by arresting three persosns and recovering nine stolen two-wheelers, ten mobile phones, and three batteries in Baisinga police station area in Mayurbhanj district.

The accused, Krushna Singh (26) of Panasia village, had been arrested earlier. Shiva Shankar and Ashok Singh have been arrested.

According to the police, a complaint was filed by Santosh Behera (46) of Sarkar Nagar, Balasore, who alleged that his motorcycle had been stolen from in front of Siba Singh’s house in Panasia village on May 19, 2025. During the investigation, the police discovered that Krushna Singh and another accused, Ashok Sing (32), were involved in the theft.

The police, led by Inspector Barini Das under the supervision of SDPO Betnoti and the guidance of SP Mayurbhanj, successfully detected and apprehended the accused. Further investigation revealed that another person, Shiba Shankar Giri (32) of Bhimda village, was also involved in the crime.
