Bhubaneswar: A fake website named Pujapariseva.com has allegedly been busted in Puri district, informed Puri Superintendent of Police (SP) Prateek Singh.
According to the SP, the website is allegedly duping devotees by offering online pujas and collecting money under false pretenses. The website is advertising online special puja services at Srimandir for Rs 7,500, with different rates mentioned for various pujas.
According to reports, the website advertises providing four types of rituals such as Abhishek Puja, Tulsi Daan Puja, General Darshan, and a special puja for Lord Jagannath and His Siblings, each with a different price tag. It also claims to arrange ‘sukhuli bhog’ offerings on behalf of devotees, luring them to book these services online with promises of direct puja and darshan of Lord Jagannath.
Taking serious note of the matter, Puri SP Prateek Singh said the cyber team has been alerted and necessary steps will be taken to block and investigate the website. He appealed to devotees not to fall prey to such fraudulent claims and to verify any service through official temple administration channels only.
