Bhubaneswar: A 28-year-old youth died at a de-addiction centre under Bharatpur police jurisdiction in Bhubaneswar under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday night.

The deceased youth has been identified as Suryakant Mohapatra, a resident of Singhanathpur under Banki police limits in Cuttack district.

According to reports, Suryakant was admitted to the centre on August 29. However, the de-addition centre authorities informed Suryakant’s family members that he committed suicide last night.

Suryakant’s family members disputed this claim, alleging that he was murdered. The family has meanwhile demanded a thorough investigation into the incident and strict action against those responsible.
