174 Cattle Rescued While Being Smuggled In Keonjhar; 11 Detained

Bhubaneswar: The Keonjhar Special Squad Team foiled an attempt to smuggle cattle near Tukuna Hata under Ghasipura police limits in Keonjhar district with the rescue of 174 cattle that were being transported in two pickup vans and a car.

Acting on a tip-off about cattle smuggling, the Special Squad Team seized 174 cattle from two pickup vans and a car. Eleven persons suspected to be involved in the smuggling have also been detained in this connection and are being questioned to unravel the network behind the smuggling operation.

In a separate case, The Bhadrak Rural Police have seized a pickup van carrying beef near a major intersection on National Highway No. 16. Four persons suspected to be involved in the illegal trade have been detained and taken to the police station for questioning.
