Bhubaneswar: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur has made a significant jump in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 rankings, securing the 34th position. This achievement marks a notable improvement from previous years, showcasing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and societal influence.
IIM Sambalpur’s outstanding performance can be attributed to its dynamic leadership, which fosters innovation, integrity, inclusiveness, and equitable opportunities in higher education. The institution has demonstrated notable progress in enhancing crucial factors that impact its rankings, including Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RPC), Graduation Outcomes (GO), and Perception (PR).
IIM Sambalpur has gained a swift hike in TLR, showcasing enhanced faculty strength, pedagogy, and academic infrastructure. The institution has also seen enhancements in RPC, indicating a growing emphasis on impactful research and publications. Positive developments in GO and PR signify improved employability, academic standing, and societal contributions.
IIM Sambalpur has officially launched its global accreditation journey, beginning with AI integration in the learning methodology and initiation of the AACSB accreditation process. The institute aims for the ‘Triple Crown’ status, a rare distinction held by less than 1% of B-schools worldwide.
The institution has reinforced its strong commitment to sustainability, collaborating with the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) and the University of Maryland. IIM Sambalpur has also shown a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, with a notable registration of female students in the MBA programme.
