Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cooperation Minister Pradeep Bala Samanta chaired a review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan to discuss the status of fertiliser supply in the State.
According to the meeting, 80,014 metric tons of urea fertiliser will be supplied to farmers in September, exclusively through Markfed and PACS/LAMPS. This move aims to ensure that farmers have uninterrupted access to urea fertiliser.
The Minister emphasised the government’s focus on maintaining an orderly fertiliser supply system. He directed officials to increase the capacity of Markfed godowns before the next Kharif season and keep advance fertiliser stocks based on PACS/LAMPS requirements.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, Commissioner and Secretary, Cooperation Department, Shubham Saxena, Director of Agriculture, and Santosh Kumar Nayak, Managing Director, Markfed. This proactive approach aims to support farmers during the peak Kharif season, ensuring adequate fertiliser supply and promoting agricultural productivity.
