Bhubaneswar: Prof. Pravat Kumar Roul, Vice-Chancellor of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), has been granted a three-year term extension, effective September 9, 2025. The Chancellor, Hari Babu Kambhampati, announced the reappointment, ensuring continuity in the university’s academic and administrative functions.
A letter has been issued by the Special Secretretary to Chancellor
“In exercise of the powers conferred under Sub-section 2 of Section 6 read with Sub-section 6 of Section 9 of Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology Act,1965, the Chancellor, Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar has been pleased to reappoint the present incumbent Vice-Chancellor, OUAT, Prof. Pravat Kumar Roul as Vice-Chancellor of Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar for a further period of three years with effect from 9th September, 2025 or until further orders whichever is earlier”, read the letter.
It is pertinent to mention that Roul was appointed as the VC of OUAT on September 9, 2022, for a three-year term. Prior to joining OUAT, he served as the Managing Director of the Agricultural Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (APICOL).
A proud alumnus of OUAT, Prof. Roul has a rich academic and administrative background. Before moving to APICOL, he held various key positions within OUAT, including Dean (Extension), Dean (Veterinary), and Director of Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation. With extensive experience in teaching, research, and administration, Prof. Roul brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role as Vice-Chancellor.
