Bhubaneswar: A 20-foot-long python was rescued by forest personnel from the Khallikote Community Health Centre (CHC) in Ganjam district late Monday night.
According to reports, the python entered the residential premises where Padmanabha Rao, an employee of Khallikote Medical, resides. Alarmed by the presence of the snake, Rao locked himself inside his house. The reptile was found resting against the door.
Upon being informed, forest department personnel promptly arrived at the scene and safely rescued the python. Officials confirmed that the snake weighed around 40 kilograms.
Following the rescue, the python was released into a nearby forest.
