Bhubaneswar: A secretary-level meeting was convened at Lok Seva Bhawan on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, where key governance, industrial, and developmental issues were discussed ahead of the upcoming Assembly session.
With the Monsoon Session of the Odisha Assembly beginning on September 18, the Chief Secretary emphasized the need for timely preparations on bills to be tabled by various departments. He also reviewed the status of decisions taken in previous cabinet meetings and directed officials to closely monitor the progress of projects and expenditure in line with the 2025–26 state budget, along with filling up vacant Group-C posts.
Highlighting Odisha’s future economic potential, Ahuja stressed leveraging opportunities in the semiconductor sector, scaling up green hydrogen production for energy growth, and accelerating the rollout of the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme. He also underscored the importance of boosting Odisha’s MSME sector, with a focus on improving product quality, enhancing visibility in national and global markets, ensuring inter-departmental coordination, and providing incentives, infrastructure, and research support.
To strengthen governance, the Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of the Chief Minister’s Dashboard, a real-time monitoring tool for schemes and projects under the Odisha Right to Public Services Act (ORTPSA), industrial and infrastructure development, and the state’s long-term vision under Viksit Odisha-2036 and Viksit Bharat-2047. Discussions also included ease of doing business measures under the Jan Vishwas Bill.
The meeting was attended by Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretaries Anu Garg, Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Surendra Kumar, Hemant Sharma, and other Principal Secretaries, Commissioners, and Secretaries of all departments.
