Jeypore (Koraput): Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati chaired a review meeting at the Saddhavana Hall in Koraput to assess the implementation of various government schemes in Koraput and Malkangiri districts. The Governor issued directives to expedite the issuance of individual and collective forest land leases by the end of the year and complete all Jala Jeevan Mission projects by December 2026.
Emphasising infrastructure development, Governor Kambhampati stressed the need to complete road construction work along Bharatmala by March 2026, which will reduce the distance between Koraput and Visakhapatnam, facilitating easier travel. He also highlighted the potential for industrial growth in Koraput and urged officials to take necessary steps to tap into these opportunities.
The Governor emphasised the importance of developing major tourist destinations like Sitakund in Malkangiri and Deomali in Koraput. He reviewed the functioning of banks under the Social Security Scheme and Mudra Yojana, directing them to prioritise youth and first-time entrepreneurs in loan disbursements.
Interacting with district officials, the Governor advised them to implement government schemes with a service-oriented approach. He reviewed the progress of various schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Odisha Livelihood Mission, and Mukhyamantri Krishi Udyog Yojana.
In this meeting, Koraput MLA Raghuram Machha, Pattangi MLA Ramachandra Kadam, Laxmipur MLA Pabitra Saunta, Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra, Malkangiri MLA Narasingh Madkami, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor Rupa Roshan Sahoo, Koraput Collector and SP were present in the meeting.
