Puri: A drone was seen flying over the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, raising serious concerns about the security of the revered shrine.
The drone, which flew from the Balisahi side, circled around the temple and hovered for some time before taking off. This is not an isolated incident, as several similar security breaches have been reported in the past.
The temple premises are designated as a no-fly zone, and restrictions on drone flying are in place to prevent such incidents. However, despite these restrictions, drones continue to fly over the temple, capturing photos and videos, often at night. The police have launched an inquiry to identify and apprehend the drone operator responsible for the latest incident.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan had earlier announced plans to install an anti-drone system at the temple to detect, track, and neutralise unauthorised drones.
