Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the condolence meeting (Smriti Sabha) program of former Baliguda MLA Karendra Majhi at Kalinga Vihar, Bhubaneswar, where he paid his respects to the departed leader.
Majhi remembered Karendra Majhi’s contributions to the development of tribals and the advancement of tribal languages, particularly his work in writing ‘Pilanka Ramayana’ in the Kui language, Dr. Ambedkar’s biography, and a dictionary of the Kui language.
During the program, Chief Minister Majhi spoke about Karendra Majhi’s dedication to the development of Kandhamal district, especially the Baliguda constituency, which he represented as a two-time MLA. Majhi prayed to Lord Jagannath to grant peace to Karendra Majhi’s soul and strength to his family to bear the loss.
Karendra Majhi, who belonged to the Kutia Kondh tribe, was the first postgraduate from his community and passed away at 52 due to kidney-related ailments.
