Bhubaneswar: After being suspended from the party, senior BJD leader and former Kamakhyanagar MLA Prafulla Mallik reacted strongly, claiming he had already resigned before the suspension.
Mallik claimed he submitted his resignation on Friday morning due to dissatisfaction with the party’s organizational policies.
“I wasn’t suspended from BJD; instead, I resigned from the party yesterday. I sent my resignation letter to Debi Mishra in the morning and informed other leaders of the party. It’s after receiving this resignation letter that they’ve suspended me,” said senior leader Prafulla Mallik, reacting to the development.
It is pertinent to mention that Mallik, a former minister and MLA, expressed strong dissatisfaction with the BJD’s functioning, stating that the party has failed to effectively serve as the main opposition in the state. He went a step further by threatening to resign from the party due to its perceived shortcomings.
