Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Odisha Assembly’s monsoon session, an all-party meeting was held in the Assembly Conference Hall, on Tuesday.
The meeting, chaired by Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, saw participation from lawmakers belonging to various parties, including the BJP, BJD, Congress, and CPM.
The meeting was attended by key leaders, including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, two Deputy Chief Ministers, Government Chief Whip, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Law Minister, the opposition party’s chief whip Pramila Mallik and Congress Legislature Party leader Ramachandra Kadam.
The primary objective of the meeting was to ensure the smooth conduct of the Assembly proceedings during the upcoming session. During the meeting, Speaker Padhy sought cooperation and support from members of all parties for smooth conduct of the session.
It is pertinent to mention that the monsoon session of the Assembly is scheduled to begin on September 18 and will conclude on September 25. The session will have a total of seven working days.
The BJD legislature party meeting is set to take place on September 17 at 5 pm. With preparations underway, all parties are gearing up for what promises to be an eventful session.
