Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has spent over ₹135.85 crore on advertisements in print and electronic media to promote and publicize various public welfare schemes during the past one and a half years.
Responding to a written query from Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati in the Assembly on Thursday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed that between April 1, 2024, and September 10, 2025, a total of ₹130.18 crore was allocated to print media outlets and ₹5.66 crore to electronic media.
The expenditure was incurred to spread awareness and highlight the state government’s welfare and development programmes, the CM’s reply stated.
