Bhubaneswar: Miscreants hurled petrol bombs at a house in Charampa town and Bisanikharida in Bhadrak district in the evening on Thursday. The suspects allegedly threw seven petrol bombs in quick succession before fleeing the scene. The motive behind the attack is suspected to be a previous enmity.
The bombing caused panic among locals, who chased the miscreants but failed to catch them. Upon receiving information, the town police station IIC reached the spot and initiated an investigation. A youth was detained for questioning, and a special team was formed to track down the other suspect.
The police have launched a search operation in various areas, including the road used by the miscreants to escape. This incident has raised concerns about security in Charampa, especially with Durga Puja and Kali Puja around the corner. Security has been beefed up at various entry points in the town.
