Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has spent over Rs 10 crore towards the maintenance and renovation of Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar from June 2024 to September 20, 2025. Additionally, Rs 26 crore has been allocated for the maintenance of the Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur for the financial year 2024-25.

Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan informed the state assembly on Saturday that Rs 8.79 crore was spent on maintenance and Rs 1.24 crore on renovation of Samaleswari Temple during the same period.

Replying to a question from Rourkela MLA Sarada Prasad Nayak, the minister also stated that the Rourkela Hockey Stadium (Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium), Kalinga Stadium, and Baramunda Bus Terminal in Bhubaneswar are not included in the Public Works Department’s accounts. Instead, their budgets are managed separately by the respective departments.
