Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida expressed their deepest condolences on the passing of renowned weightlifter and Arjuna Award winner Bijay Kumar Satpathy.
In his message, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi prayed for the departed soul’s peace and strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.
CM wrote: “I am deeply saddened to learn about the demise of Arjuna Award winner and renowned sportsman Bijay Kumar Satpathy. I pray that Lord Sri Jagannath grants peace to the departed soul and provides strength to his family to bear this sorrow. Om Shanti.”
Deputy CM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo expressed sadness and heartbreak over Satpathy’s demise, acknowledging his contributions to bringing pride to the state and country.
He tweeted: “Hearing the news of the demise of Bijay Kumar Satpathy, the Arjuna Award recipient, who has been bringing pride to the country and state at the international level in the field of weightlifting, I am deeply saddened and heartbroken. With this, I convey my deepest condolences to the grieving family members.”
Deputy CM Pravati Parida also paid tribute to Satpathy, expressing condolences to his family and well-wishers.
“I am deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of Arjuna Award winner Bijay Kumar Satpathy , who brought pride to the country and state in the field of weightlifting at the international level. I express my condolences to the bereaved family and well-wishers”, she tweeted.
