Man Killed By Wild Elephant While Collecting Mushrooms In Angul

Bhubaneswar: A 55-year-old man died after being attacked by a wild elephant while collecting mushrooms in a forest near his village in Angul district in the wee hours of Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Subash Chandra Pradhan, a resident of Badasahi under Chhendipada block.

According to reports, Pradhan went inside into the forest, approximately two kilometres away from his village, Badasahi. While collecting mushrooms, a lone wild elephant suddenly attacked him. He was rescued and rushed to Chhendipada Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Angul District Headquarters Hospital where he was declared dead.

Meanwhile, forest department officials reached the spot and started investigation into the matter.
