Bhubaneswar: In anticipation of heavy rainfall predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Ganjam district administration has cancelled leaves for all government employees for two days starting tomorrow. The Collector has directed all government staff to remain present at the district headquarters.

Similarly, the Kalahandi district administration has also cancelled leaves for government staff on September 27 and 28. Employees are required to stay at the headquarters and not leave without prior permission from the Collector.

The decision comes as a depression in the Bay of Bengal is expected to cross the coast between North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha on September 28, bringing heavy rain to the region. These precautions aim to ensure effective disaster management and public safety during the anticipated heavy rainfall
