Traffic Advisory Issued For Cuttack Durga Puja Immersion Festival On October 3-4

Bhubaneswar: The Police Commissionerate of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack has issued a traffic advisory for the upcoming Durga Puja Immersion Festival in Cuttack UPD, scheduled for October 3-4, 2025. To ensure public safety and smooth movement, several traffic restrictions will be enforced from 7 am on October 3 until the immersion concludes on October 4.

Key Traffic Restrictions:

  1. No vehicle shall be allowed to proceed directly towards Ranihat Clock Tower from CDA Market Complex, Post Office Chhak, and Bombay Hotel Chhak at College Square. Vehicles may use the Mahanadi Ring Road from CDA Market Complex to Jobra Chhak via Bombay Hotel and I Love Cuttack.
  2. No vehicle shall be allowed to go from Maigodown State Bank side to College Chhak through Pilgrim Road. They may use the route to OMP/CDA Market Chhak and College Square via Maigodown and Maigodown Flyover Bridge.
  3. No vehicle shall be allowed to go directly from Mochi Sahi Chhak to Clock Tower Chhak via Ranihat High School. Vehicles can take a left turn at Mochi Sahi Chhak to reach Clock Tower Chhak or Jobra Chhak via Dr. Jejeswar Rao Chhak.
  4. When Medha are approaching Ranihat Chhak, no vehicle shall be allowed from Bajrakabati Bridge to Ranihat Chhak. Vehicles may proceed to Buxibazar or Mangalabag through Kesharpur Bridge.
  5. At the time of Medha passing at Mangalabag Chhak, no vehicle shall be allowed to go from Kathagola Chhak to Mangalabag Chhak.
  6. No vehicle shall be allowed to go towards Howrah Motor Chhak from Matamath Chhak and Vigilance Gada.
  7. No vehicle shall be allowed to go towards Mani Sahoo Chhak and Mastan Dargha Chhak (Tanishq) from Grinner Hotel Chhak.
  8. No vehicle shall be allowed to go towards Buxibazar Chhak from Beparisahi Durga Ghar Chhak and Samaj Office Chhak.
  9. No vehicle shall be allowed to go towards Pravat Cinema from Meria Bazar Bridge.
  10. No vehicle shall be allowed to go towards Laxmibrass Band or Kar Palace.
  11. No vehicle shall be allowed to go from Hatipokhari Chhak to Jail Road Chhak.
  12. No vehicle shall be allowed to go from Ravenshaw Girls High School to Padhiyari Library and Gouri Shankar Park. Similarly, vehicles are not allowed to go towards Gouri Shankar Park and Utkalika Chhak from Dharma Sala Chhak.
  13. No vehicle shall be allowed to go from High Court Chhak to Choudhury Bazaar via Ballubazar Chhak.
  14. No vehicle shall be allowed to go towards Purnna Sahoo Chhak from Municipality Old Gate.
  15. No vehicle shall be allowed to go towards Purnna Sahoo Chhak from Nandi Sahi.
  16. No vehicle shall be allowed to go towards Kathajodi Ring Road from Tala Telenga Bazar Hanuman Temple via Nursigha Nath Matha.
  17. No vehicle shall be allowed to go towards Purnna Sahoo Chhak from Nandi Sahi via Apananka Hotel Chhak.
  18. No vehicle shall be allowed to go towards Purighat Gada on Kathajodi Ring Road from Khannagar Chhak and Blue Lagoon Chhak.
  19. Heavy vehicles and passenger buses are not allowed from Judicial Academy Chhak towards Purighat. They may use the route through Trisulia or Satichura.
  20. Buses (Government/Private) are not allowed to ply inside the city area during the above-mentioned days.
  21. Devotees arriving to witness the Durga Medha immersion can park their vehicles at the following designated parking areas:
  • Parking area near Belleview Square (2/4 wheelers)
  • Premises of Bidanasi High School (2/4 wheelers)
  • Christian Padia (2/4 wheelers)
  • Upper Bali Jatra Ground (2/4 wheelers)
  • Parking area in front of Bose Engineering College (Mahanadi Ring Road) (2/4 wheelers)
  • Parking area in front of Kathagola Square (Mahanadi Ring Road)
  • Parking area in front of Shri Maa Hospital (Mahanadi Ring Road) (2/4 wheelers)
  • Old Puri Bus Stand (2/4 wheelers)
  • Old Badambadi Bus Stand (2/4 wheelers)
  • Parking area in front of Mata Math (Mahanadi Ring Road) (2/4 wheelers)
  • Parking area in front of CNBT (Kathajodi Ring Road) (2/4 wheelers)
  • Parking area in front of the petrol pump near CDA Market Complex (College Square) (2 wheelers)
  • Chauliajang Playground Parking Slot (2/4 wheelers)
  • Lower Bali Jatra Ground Slot (2/4 wheelers)
  • Sun Shine Playground Parking Slot (2/4 wheelers)

Emergency vehicles including Police, Fire Brigade, Excise, and Ambulance will be exempt from these restrictions.

Violation of this order will attract penalties under Section 96 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003. Offenders may be fined Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000.

The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate urges the public to cooperate and plan their routes accordingly to ensure a safe and smooth celebration.
