Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for 10 districts in Odisha, forecasting light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning over the next three hours.
As per the IMD’s nowcast bulletin, the warning is valid till 10.5 am today. The districts likely to be affected include Dhenkanal, Angul, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Puri, Nayagarh, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), and Khordha (including Bhubaneswar city).
The IMD has advised residents in these regions to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
People are urged to stay indoors during thunderstorms and be prepared to move to safer locations if weather conditions worsen. The public is also advised to avoid taking shelter under trees and to stay away from open fields during lightning activity.
