Odisha Battered By Downpour In 24 Hours, Bahanaga Hit Hard With 105mm

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall lashed Odisha in the past 24 hours, with 10 places receiving significant downpours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, Bahanaga in Balasore district recorded the highest rainfall of 105.0 mm.

Going by the information provided by Manorama Mohanty, Head of Regional Meteorological Centre, Other areas that experienced substantial rainfall include Balasore (93.6 mm), Soro (90.0 mm), Nilgiri (85.0 mm), Bhograai (79.0 mm), and Krushnaprasad in Puri district (79.0 mm). Additionally, Hatadihi in Keonjhar district received 75.2 mm of rainfall, while Jajpur recorded 70.0 mm.

The heavy rainfall has prompted the state government to be on high alert, monitoring the situation closely to respond to any emergencies. Citizens are advised to stay indoors and avoid travel during heavy rainfall.
