Bhubaneswar: The Cuttack Police Commissionerate has taken extensive measures to ensure a safe and smooth Durga Puja immersion process.
According to reports, drones will be used to monitor the immersion route for the first time. Over 500 CCTV cameras will be strategically placed to keep a close watch on the immersion proceedings. A special team, ‘CTC 60’, has been formed to check noise pollution. This team will strictly enforce rules against excessive sound pollution, with penalties including confiscation of sound equipment and legal action.
To maintain law and order, 125 platoons of police forces will be deployed, with 25 platoons will be with the idols to avoid untoward incidents during the procession. Additionally, 60 aid posts will be set up across the city, and the Odisha Rapid Action Force (ORAF) and fire department will be on standby.
The Commissionerate Police has, meanwhile, appealed to the public to cooperate and ensure a peaceful celebration.
