Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for any information leading to the arrest of two hardcore criminals who escaped from Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack district.
The fugitives, identified as Raja Sahani from Lohia Nagar in Begusarai, Bihar, and Madhukant Kumar from Rampur in Saran district, Bihar, were lodged in the jail for their alleged involvement in a jewellery shop loot case and murder of two persons in Jajpur district.
Citizens are requested to provide information on the whereabouts of the accused.

Citizens are requested to provide any information about the whereabouts of the accused to ACP, Zone 1, Cuttack (Mob- 9437148168) or IIC, Choudwar Police station (Mob- 9338025119). The identity of the informant will remain strictly confidential, police announced through social media.
The escape occurred on Thursday night when the jail staff and prisoners were celebrating Dussehra. The duo allegedly cut through the iron grills of their cells and scaled the boundary wall using a rope made from blankets. A chief warder and a warder have been suspended for negligence in duty.
