Bhubaneswar: A police constable died while heroically rescuing five stranded tourists from a wild boar attack near Barunei hills in Khordha district, on Sunday.
According to reports, the tourists had gone to Barunei Hill when a wild boar charged at them unexpectedly. In panic, some climbed trees while three were injured while trying to escape.
As news spread, a rescue operation was launched by local police and forest department personnel. During the rescue efforts, a police went missing and was later found dead.
The forest department and police personnel, however, rescued five tourists who were stranded on a tree for hours.
