Bhubaneswar: A person was reportedly shot dead on the Sikala hilltop in Rayagada district’s Andhra-Odisha border area.
The deceased has been identified as Pubula Paraya, a resident of Parbatipur Manyam District in Andhra Pradesh.
According to reports, Paraya had been cultivating on the hilltop, which led to disputes with local villagers. Miscreants might have opened fire on Paraya due to land dispute.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident, but the exact motive behind the murder is yet to be determined.
