Nabarangpur: In a tragic incident attributed to family negligence, a toddler lost her life after accidentally falling into a bucket filled with water. The deceased, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl named Limbati Pujari, was the daughter of Bishu Pujari of Koi village under Dabugaon police limits in Nabarangpur district.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 4:30 PM on Wednesday in Koi village under Dangriguda Gram Panchayat of Jharigam block. Limbati was playing in the backyard of her house when she accidentally fell into a bucket full of water and drowned.

When family members noticed the child missing, they searched for her and eventually found her submerged in the bucket behind the house. She was immediately rushed to the Dabugaon Community Health Centre, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Following a written complaint from the child’s father, the Dabugaon police registered an unnatural death case, seized the body for post-mortem examination, and launched an investigation.

After the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family on Thursday. Bishu Pujari has two daughters and one son. The family has been devastated by the sudden and heartbreaking loss of their youngest daughter.
