Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation is currently active over North Odisha and its adjacent areas. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this system is not expected to develop into a low-pressure system. However, its impact will be felt across the state, bringing scattered thunderstorms and rainfall to southern, northern, and coastal districts of Odisha until October 12.
For today, the regional weather department has issued a yellow alert for several districts, warning of thunderstorms and rainfall. Some areas may experience heavy rainfall.
The districts under alert include Balasore, Jajpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, and Koraput.
Residents in these areas are advised to remain cautious and stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and follow safety guidelines to minimize risks.
