Puri: Continuing its crackdown on gambling under the ongoing ‘Operation Chakra’ campaign, Puri police on Saturday arrested six gamblers during a raid conducted at a hotel under the Sea Beach police station limits.
During the operation, police seized ₹90,000 in cash along with gambling materials from the spot.
According to officials, the drive aims to curb gambling activities across the district, following the directives of the Puri Superintendent of Police (SP). So far, under this campaign, around 80 gamblers have been arrested, and ₹5.91 lakh has been seized from various raids.
Police have appealed to the public to report any gambling activities in their area by calling the emergency helpline number 112 or informing the nearest police station. The district police emphasized that the crackdown will continue to ensure strict enforcement of the law.
