Malkangiri: In a significant operation, the DVF Unit of Malkangiri, in coordination with security forces, conducted an intensive search in the general area of Madhumal and Chilkalmamidi Reserve Forest on Wednesday. The search operation led to the recovery of a major cache of explosives and Maoist-related materials.
The seized items include Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), detonators, codex wire, a generator, welding machines, and other equipment suspected to be used for making IEDs and repairing arms. Literature and other articles belonging to the Maoists were also recovered.
The operation dealt a significant blow to the Maoists’ plans to carry out subversive activities in the area. Further combing and search operations are underway to apprehend the Maoist cadres and prevent any potential threats to civilians and security forces. The recovery is a major jolt to the anti-national design of Maoists in the region.
