Bhubaneswar: Former Chief Manager of the State Bank of India and respected social worker Rabindra Nath Padhee passed away in the early hours of Friday. He was 75.
He leaves behind a legacy of dedication and service. His mortal remains were cremated later in the day at Swargadwar in Puri, in the presence of close relatives, family, and friends.
Born on October 14, 1950, in Berhampur, Padhee served the State Bank of India for more than 37 years in an illustrious banking career marked by integrity, professionalism, and commitment to public service.
After his retirement, Padhee devoted his time and energy to community development, with a particular focus on improving roads and drainage facilities in the Gajapati Nagar area of Bhubaneswar. His selfless contributions significantly enhanced the civic infrastructure of the locality and earned him the admiration of residents and peers alike.
He is survived by his spouse, Chandrabati Padhee; elder son Amarendra Padhee, a renowned architect in Delhi; younger son Samarendra Padhee, a banker by profession; and daughter Kalyani Padhee.
The residents of Gajapati Nagar and officials from the State Bank of India deeply mourned Padhee’s passing, remembering him as a person of simplicity, compassion, and unwavering dedication.
His demise is an irreparable loss to society and to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
