Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission has suspended Tanuja Mohanty, an officer from the Information & Public Relations Department, for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct for the bye-election to the 71-Nuapada Assembly Constituency.
As per the suspension order, Mohanty will be based at the State Headquarters in Bhubaneswar and will not be allowed to leave without prior permission from the competent authority. She is required to report daily to the Director (Technical) of the I&PR Department.
The suspension is pending disciplinary proceedings, and Mohanty will receive subsistence allowance as per the Odisha Service Code rules during the suspension period.
“In pursuance of clause (a) of sub-rule (1) of Rule 12 of the Orissa Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1962, pending drawal of disciplinary proceeding. Smt. Tanuja Mohanty, OIS-II is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect on the ground of violation of enforced Model Code of Conduct for Bye- Election -2025 to 71-Nuapada Assembly Constituency”, read the notification.
