Cuttack: In a tragic incident, three minor children lost their lives after accidentally falling into a septic tank at Ragadipada village under Badamba block in Cuttack district on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Shubham Nayak (3), Ankit Nayak (9), and Shibani Nayak (7) — all residents of Ichhapur and Badaberana villages under the jurisdiction of Badamba police station.
According to reports, the children had come to visit their maternal uncle’s house when the mishap took place.
Family members immediately rescued the children and rushed them to the Badamba Community Health Centre (CHC). However, doctors declared all three brought dead.
On being informed, Badamba police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The bodies were later sent for post-mortem examination.
Athagarh SDPO Biswajit Mohanty confirmed the incident and said further inquiry is underway.
