Bhubaneswar: A three-month-old infant died allegedly after being administered a polio vaccine at an Anganwadi center in Nandapatna village under Basudevpur block in Bhadrak district.

The infant’s family has filed a written complaint with the Naikanidihi police station, alleging that the vaccine claimed the child’s life.

According to the complaint, the infant, identified as Rajaram Jana’s three-month-old child, received the polio vaccine on Monday at the Nandapatna Anganwadi center. The child developed fever in the evening and fell asleep. To everyone’s surprise, the newborn was found conscious in the morning. Her family took the child to the Basudevpur Community Hospital Centre, where the doctor declared the child dead.
