OSWC Hands Over Rs 3.4 Crore Dividend To Odisha Govt For FY 2021–22

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Warehousing Corporation (OSWC) on Tuesday handed over a dividend of Rs 3 crore 40 lakh 64 thousand 105 to the Odisha Government for the financial year 2021–22. The cheque was presented through Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja in a ceremony held at the Chief Secretary’s conference room.

The event was attended by Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Co-Operation and Mihir Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director, OSWC, along with other senior officials.

During 2021–22, OSWC recorded a total profit of Rs 22 crore 70 lakh 94 thousand 33. Based on 30% of this profit, a total dividend of Rs 6 crore 81 lakh 28 thousand 210 was declared, which was equally distributed between the two shareholders — the Government of Odisha and the Central Warehousing Corporation.

Also present at the event were K. Sudarshan Chakraborty, Registrar of Cooperative Societies; Usharani Das, Special Secretary, Co-Operation Department; Smitanjali Swain, Financial Advisor; Trupti Kalyani Sethi, Chief General Manager; Sangram Raut, Joint Secretary; Lingaraj Nayak, Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies; and Prabhat Kumar Parida, Senior Superintendent.

Established in 1958, OSWC has a total storage capacity of 5,19,700 metric tonnes across 68 warehouses in all 30 districts of Odisha. The Corporation has consistently posted profits and regularly paid dividends to its shareholders. For instance, in 2018–19, it had paid Rs 4 crore 36 lakh 31 thousand 251 to each shareholder.

On the occasion, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja lauded OSWC’s performance and urged departmental officers and senior management to prioritise modernisation and efficient management of the Corporation.
