Bhubaneswar: The Subhadra Shakti Mela, being held at the local IDCO exhibition grounds, has captivated visitors with its vibrant showcase of Odisha’s rich cultural heritage and women-led entrepreneurship.
Over 300 stalls are featuring unique products by self-help groups and producer groups from across the state, including traditional handicrafts, artefacts, organic products, hand-cooked food, furniture, and decorative items.
The GI products and One District, One Product exhibition have been a major draw, showcasing a diverse range of products from different districts of Odisha, such as Pipili applique, Koraput Coffee, Kandhamal turmeric, Puri Raghurajpur Pattachitra, Cuttack silver filigree, and Dhokra crafts.
A delegation of 15 members, led by Heng Chiang Gni, Chairman of ITES (Institute of Technical Education Services), Singapore, visited the fair and interacted with the women entrepreneurs, appreciating the variety of handmade products on display.
The event has also featured cultural programs, including a mesmerising performance by Vishnupriya Pala Sansad, followed by music by vocalists Navya and Suraj Das. With sales exceeding Rs 3 crore, the 12-day festival is expected to conclude on November 12, 2025, offering a unique experience to visitors and promoting Odisha’s women-led entrepreneurship.
