Komana (Nuapada): Emotions ran high during Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s campaign rally in Komana on Thursday as BJP’s Nuapada by-election candidate Jay Dholakia broke down in tears on stage while the Chief Minister addressed the gathering.

The emotional moment was captured on camera, showing tears streaming down Dholakia’s face as BJP Yuva Morcha president Abhilash Panda was seen wiping them away. Despite his attempts to compose himself, Dholakia appeared visibly moved throughout the Chief Minister’s speech.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Majhi held a roadshow in Komana, followed by a large public meeting where he launched a sharp counterattack on the opposition. Responding to former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s allegations of dishonesty, Majhi said, “Calling the son of the Rajendra Dholakia family dishonest does not suit the opposition leaders. When one finger is pointed at others, four remain directed at oneself.”

He further accused the opposition of sidelining senior leaders such as Bijay Mohapatra and Nalini Mohanty, remarking that the people of Nuapada would give their verdict in the by-election.

As the Chief Minister spoke, Dholakia’s emotional reaction drew the attention of both party leaders and the crowd, symbolizing the intensity and personal stakes surrounding the Nuapada by-election.
