Bhubaneswar: Police seized 150 grams of contraband brown sugar and arrested three individuals involved in the illicit trade in Khurdha. The operation was carried out by a team led by SI Basanta Kumar Pattanaik on Thursday near Lata Pokhari, Batamangala Road in Khurdha.
The arrested individuals have been identified as three male persons aged 23, 25, and 23 years, hailing from Mukundaprasad, Samantarapur, and Bhaliabadi, respectively, all within the Khurdha district.
The police team also seized cash worth Rs. 34,000, three mobile phones, and two motorcycles from the accused. The seized items are being held as evidence.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Khurdha, Nihar Ranjan Pradhan, and Sanjay Kumar Nayak, IIC, Model PS, Khordha, as directed by SP Vivekananda Sharma.
