Berhampur: Acting on a tip-off, the Berhampur Excise Intelligence team seized 150 kilograms of ganja during a raid conducted near the city.
One person was arrested in connection with the case, while two others managed to flee from the spot.
According to officials, the contraband was being illegally transported from Gajapati district to another state. Acting swiftly on credible intelligence, the Excise team intercepted the vehicle near Berhampur and conducted the raid, leading to the major seizure.
In addition to the ganja, one car, one motorcycle, and a mobile phone were seized from the spot.
Further investigation is underway to trace the absconding accused and uncover the larger network involved in the inter-state ganja trafficking racket, informed an Excise official.
