Jeypore (Koraput): More than 50 students of PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Landiguda in Koraput district, walked around six kilometres to the District Magistrate’s office on Monday, seeking intervention in issues related to their History teacher.
The agitating Class XI students alleged that their History teacher, identified as Prachi Madam, behaves inappropriately and does not teach the subject properly. They claimed that despite several complaints to the school authorities, no action has been taken.
“We came here because our History teacher’s behavior and teaching methods are not good. We reported the matter many times, but no one listened. That’s why we had to approach the Collector directly,” said Class XI student Suchitra Pujari.
Another student, Pradeep Kumar, said, “Our board exams are in February. We have repeatedly complained in writing and in person to the principal, but there has been no response. If this continues, how will we perform in the exams?”
Responding to the students’ grievances, Koraput Sub-Collector Premlal Hial assured them that their issues would be addressed. The district administration later arranged a bus to transport the students back to their school.
Meanwhile, the JNV Principal said she had already reported the matter twice to the Assistant Commissioner for further action.
