Bhubaneswar: Night temperatures in Odisha have begun to dip as winter sets in, with Daringbadi in Kandhamal district recording 9.5°C on Tuesday, the lowest in the state this season. Phulbani followed with 11°C, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
Other towns reporting low temperatures included G. Udayagiri at 10.5°C, Jharsuguda at 11.1°C, Chiplima at 12°C, Kirei at 12.2°C, Rourkela at 12.9°C, Sundargarh at 13.2°C, Angul at 13.6°C, and Keonjhar at 13.4°C.
Dense fog was reported in Koraput and Bhawanipatna, affecting visibility and normal life. On the other hand, Paralakhemundi recorded the highest temperature in the state at 33.4°C.
IMD officials have advised residents, particularly in Kandhamal, Phulbani, and surrounding districts, to take precautions against the cold as winter intensifies.
