Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has extended congratulations to the Regional Chief Conservator of Forests, Berhampur, for winning the first position in the Geo-Institution other than School & College (Outside Campus) category of the 6th National Water Awards, 2024.
In a post on X, Majhi praised the team’s dedication, innovation, and efforts in water resources conservation and management, saying the award is a matter of immense pride for the state. The award recognises the team’s excellence in environmental stewardship and serves as a model for sustainable natural resource management.
The Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, presented the award, highlighting the team’s hard work and commitment to preserving natural resources.
The National Water Awards (NWAs) focus on the good work and efforts made by individuals and organisations across the country in attaining the government’s vision of a ‘Jal Samridh Bharat’. The awards are for creating awareness among the people about the importance of water and motivating them to adopt best water usage practices. The event provides an occasion for all people and organisations to further cement a strong partnership and people engagement in water resources conservation and management activities.
