Bhubaneswar: The Nuapada bye-election has concluded, with a voter turnout of approximately 75.37% recorded by 5 PM today. All eight helicopters carrying polling personnel have returned, indicating the successful completion of polling in 165 stations.

In a minor glitch, the EVM (1 Ballot Unit, 1 Control Unit, and 1 VVPAT) was replaced in booth number 246. The voting process was otherwise smooth, with authorities taking all necessary precautions to ensure a fair and peaceful election, informed the CEO office.

Counting of votes is scheduled for November 14, and the results are expected to be announced soon after.
